Today’s Topic: Using Charts with Profound UI Designer

The Profound UI designer is built with a number of popular single series charts built into the widgets toolbox. These charts include the most commonly used styles and provide an easy drag and drop process for adding great looking charts to your screens. However, the charts don’t stop with the supplied styles. Profound UI comes with a license for all the FusionCharts XT charts, widgets, and maps. There are about 100 different chart and widget styles and 1000s of maps available.

Today’s Topic: Using Your IBM i Tables with NodeRun

Last week we introduced NodeRun, which is a great tool for experimenting and designing applications with Node.js and Profound.js in a cloud environment. This environment is perfect for creating database-driven applications that you can share and collaborate on with others. To enable building these database-driven applications, the NodeRun environment is built with a MariaDB database already installed.

One of the biggest perks of NodeRun is the ability to build tables. Creating a space using one of the built-in templates will create a table that you can use in NodeRun's environment. These tables are pre-populated with example data that you can use in your application.

Some Profound UI users would prefer to replace information anchored to the screen with a popup context menu, but linking the popup to the anchored text so that the user can use the function buttons can be tricky, especially when you have multiple lines of data.
