IBM Gives A Peek Of The Future At POWERUp 2019 by Timothy Prickett Morgan
POWERUp 2019 has come and gone, and IBM was gracious enough to give us a glimpse into the future for customers of the Power Systems line. IBM aims to provide comfort to customers that they are continually working on future technology and services without giving away too much to their competition. Vice President of Offerings for the Cognitive Systems Division, Steve Sibley, participated in the opening session of the POWERUp 2019 conference this week and revealed a bit about what upcoming products IBM is pushing customers towards. They are genuinely focused on driving customers to a more digital transformation within their enterprises and at the same time embracing new technologies, including machine learning for Power Systems machines.
"As a testament to the modernization and the innovation that customers are doing with their businesses, we have actually seen six straight quarters of growth on the IBM i platform itself," says Sibley. "This is the platform that we keep reinvigorating and delivering new capability around, and that customers are able to take and innovate with to deliver new business services."
