Going Mobile on the IBM i? Here Are Some Resources to Get You Started...

Mobile is a major initiative for many businesses in 2013, including those that run on the IBM i platform. If you have limited experience with creating mobile applications, this can be a daunting prospect. There are multiple approaches to going mobile, and some are not as difficult as you may think!

If your business is thinking about creative mobile versions of your IBM i applications, here are some recent articles and a Profound Logic Webcast on the topic that you may find helpful:

  • The Sweet 16 Of Mobile App Dev Tools for IBM i: IT Jungle's Alex Woodie lists the top 3rd party tools to consider when developing mobile IBM i applications
  • Mobile Computing Within the Business Enterprise: This 4 part special report from IBM Systems Magazine covers everything from trends for mobile development within the business to mobile security.
  • RPG Teams Picking Up Mobile Development Skills: Another IT Jungle article, this one includes insight from our CEO Alex Roytman on the trends we see with RPG development teams creating mobile applications in their workplace.
  • Take IBM i Everywhere with Mobile Applications: This on-demand Profound Logic Webcast features IBM's Tim Rowe and our own Scott Klement and Alex Roytman.
